3D Animation and Compositing |

Project: "Countdown", a short film by Jeffery Wang.
Software used: 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, After Effects.
Description: Rockets ferry
refugees from a dying Earth, in the film's final shot. I modeled and
animated the rockets in Max, and composited them behind the skybridge
in After Effects.

Project: "Touch", a short film by Jeffery Wang.
Software used: After Effects.
Description: Protagonist
waits at a bus-stop in the rain, and imagines herself arriving at a
party. I keyed and color corrected the source footage in After Effects.

Project: "Nija Slayers: From Dawn to Dusk", a comedy by Adam Burgett and Mike Harris.
Software used: Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Cakewalk Sonar.
Description: A Ninja
Master attempts to catch a bullet fired by his mortal enemy, in the
film's final scene. I used After Effects for the muzzle flash, image
stabilization, motion blurs and compositing. I used Premiere Pro for
editing and color correction, and mixed the sound effects in Cakewalk
Sonar.

Motion DVD Menus

Project: "Lost in Zombieville", a film by Matthew Brewbaker.
Software used: Photoshop, After Effects.
Description: This is a
sample of the DVD menus I created for the commercial release of a
low-budget horror film. The composite backgrounds were created in
Photoshop, and animated in After Effects. They were based on location
photographs, and elements from the film.

Project: "Robotmedia Davis VI Intro", by Adam Burgett.
Software used: Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Cakewalk Sonar.
Description: This is an
intro I made for one of the quarterly student film showcases at UC
Davis. It involved day-for-night effects, motion tracking, and
rotoscoping. The audio collage was made in Cakewalk.

Project: "Matt's Typical Morning", animated short by Adam Burgett.
Software used: Premiere, Flash, Cakewalk Sonar.
Description: A
caricature of my roommate, Matt, given to inexplicable behavior on even
the typicallist of mornings. Made as a midterm project for my
Interactivity and Animation class at UC Davis, which required a sixty
second animation made in Flash.

Project:"Touch", a short film by Jeffery Wang.
Software used: After Effects, Photoshop.
Description: A plastic
bag covering the camera made its way into the frame and had to be
removed. The director also wanted the tree darkened, to put more
emphasis on the center of the frame.

Project:"Robotmedia Davis IX Intro", by Adam Burgett.
Software used: After Effects, Illustrator.
Description: I made this
Tarantino-inspired intro to suit the showcase themes "Going Away" and
"Revenge", at the height of Robotmedia Davis's popularity. The graphics
were drawn in Illustrator* and animated in After Effects.
*Except for the airplane... I'm pretty sure that was a Wingdings character.

Project:"As Icarus Fell Music Video", by Adam Burgett.
Software used: Premiere, After Effects.
Description: A raw,
performance based video for Davis hardcore band Unless, shot in the
garage/studio where they practiced. It involved numerous fast edits,
and the condensation of about two hours of footage. It has no real
"concept" aspect, and 90 percent of the population finds the music
insufferable. I grew to enjoy it.

Project:"Goblin Market", a short film by Kristi Uribes.
Software used: Flash, After Effects, Premiere.
Description: I created
the animation for these segments of a USC student film. The director
wanted the goblins to look hand animated, as if they were taken out of
a storybook illustration. They were drawn in Flash and composited with
the live-action footage in After Effects.
